We Made It!!

Well we have all arrived safely in Ireland!! I will have to do a detailed post later about the trip to get here but it actually went pretty well. It was an exhausting day but we are thrilled to finally be here. Now we are just enjoying some Irish tea before bed :)

Basically we woke the babies up early which made them a little cranky but once we got to the airport it actually helped I think. They slept a good portion of the first flight which was awesome and then didn't really sleep much on the second one. Just little cat naps. But that actually helped because we arrived in Dublin a little before 5 am, but it was almost 9 pm back home. Once we got all of our things, met the family, packed up all the cars, and made it back to the house it was almost 7 am (aka 11pm) and the babies were very tired. We got unpacked, I fed them and put the babies down for a nap. Then Patrick and I got our first big Irish breakfast! It was wonderful. The babies slept for 4 hours before we woke them up around lunch time and went out. They were refreshed and so happy. We went into downtown Dublin just to walk around and they loved it. It was so fun. We got back to the house and we all took a nap. We had dinner at another family  members house with a good portion of Patrick's side that was in the area. We got home and put the babies down a little while ago, so not much after when they would normally go to bed at home. They were exhausted. Im hoping that they sleep the whole night but I have a feeling they might not. We will see.

Tomorrow we are going to see Patrick's Great Aunt and probably meet up with a few cousins for dinner. Those are all the plans we have so far! I guess thats what happens when you plan a trip a few days before leaving! We have plenty of time though and this is going to be more of a seeing family trip than sightseeing. We will wait on the big stuff until the babies will remember!!

Crazy Plans

Well one of Patrick's relatives in Ireland has been fighting Cancer and we just found out she doesn't have much time left. He was very close to her as a kid whenever they went there and he stayed with her a few times on his own when he went in college.

Yesterday we decided as crazy as it will be, we would regret not going as a family to see her and introduce the triplets to her and the rest of the family. We knew we wanted to in a year or two but this makes the decision for us.

So we bought our tickets last night. We are leaving early tomorrow morning and are going for 10 days. We are so excited to go, just the preparation has been a bit nuts. His parents are flying with us too so we will have a few extra hands. We have 2 rows front and back but are still trying to decide what the arrangements are and if we should bring two or just one car seat. We will have the ergos too and the valco baby stroller. (family has other seats and beds for us when we get there.)

I'm a bit stressed getting everything packed but once we get there it will be so fun and we are excited as is the family!

The flight is at 7am tomorrow so we are getting up at 4:15am. My dad is going to drive us in the morning. Hopefully the babies wont be too cranky from getting up early and I can nurse them and once we get there they will sleep. Fingers crossed.

We have 2 flights both just over 6 hours I think and a 2 hour layover. Wish us luck!!

Ill update again when we arrive!!

8 Months Old!

Ok, so seriously we only have 4 more months until they turn ONE?! Where has the time gone!! It is crazy to me how much they have changed. They are developing the cutest little (well actually big) personalities and relationships with each other and Patrick and I. They are such happy babies, we are so lucky! They are doing great with food and are really starting to enjoy solids. They always liked it but now they seem to actually be eating most of it. The BLW is working!

Declan

Honestly, where have my babies gone?! He looks so big here! Declan is starting to get more hair and it is coming in blonde. Definitely not a hint of red in his or his brother's hair anymore. He is quite the mellow child but can be very loud! He loves to cuddle and be held. Hes become quite the little mover and is quick! He now has 2 teeth!

Weight and Length: Somewhere around 18-19 pounds.

Eating: He nurses about 5 times a day, and sometimes a few small snacks. He eats two meals of solids, breakfast and dinner and maybe a little snack in the middle.

Sleep: Still our best sleeper. He sleeps from about 8 pm to 7 am every night and takes 2 long 1.5-2 hour naps during the day with a 30 minute cat nap half the time.

Clothes Sizes: He is in mostly 9 month size especially in pants.

Favorite Things: Bath time is a winner and he loves being outside. His favorite things are anything he can put in his mouth! He also loves music.

Least Favorite ThingsDiaper changes are the devil and he also is starting to hate the carseat. We are going to transition them soon.

Milestones: Crawling, and pulling up to stand!

Owen

Look at him standing!! He was so proud of himself. Owen was the first to learn to pull up and now wants to do it on everything! Owen is still our little clown. He loves to laugh and make us laugh! He makes some of the funniest faces! He is really starting to "talk" non stop and wants all the attention! He has 2 teeth too!

Weight and Length: Somewhere around 18-19 pounds.

Eating: He nurses about 5 times a day, and usually has a few other snacks throughout the day too. He eats two meals of solids, breakfast and dinner and maybe a little snack in the middle.

Sleep: He sleeps the least. He sleeps from about 8 pm to 6:30 and is always the first one up in the morning. He takes 2 naps for about 1.5 hours each day and almost never takes any cat naps unless we are in the car for a while.

Clothes Sizes: He is in mostly 9 month size especially in pants.

Favorite Things: He loves bath time and splashing and he loves to be outside too. He wil crawl to the back door and bang on it to go in the backyard! He loves to move so the jumper and exersaucer are some of his favorites.

Least Favorite Things: He still hates diaper changes and the car seat but has gotten better. He also hates waiting!

Milestones: Crawling, and pulling up to stand!

Evelyn

She loves sticking out her tongue! Evelyn is such a sweet heart. She loves her daddy and being with her brothers. She is all girl! She doesn't like to be messy and is very particular about things but she knows just how to melt your heart! She also loves her cuddles. She has 2 teeth!

Weight and Length: Somewhere around 18-19 pounds.

Eating: She nurses about 5 times a day, and sometimes a few small snacks. She eats two meals of solids, breakfast and dinner and maybe a little snack in the middle.

Sleep: She is a pretty good sleeper. She usually sleeps from 8 pm to 7 am but might wake a little earlier. She naps for 1.5 to 2 hours twice a day and a little cat nap is hit or miss with her.

Clothes Sizes: She is in mostly 9 month size!

Favorite Things: She also loves bath time and being outside and she loves the swing! We got one for our back yard and will sit in in forever. She is starting to loves books and having us read to her.

Least Favorite Things: She is better with diaper changes but still doesn't like them and she does not like being alone.

Milestones: She has started to army crawl and scoot and can pull up to her knees but not quite to her feet yet.

Teeth!

This week both of the boys have gotten another tooth! Now they each have their two bottom teeth. Declan got one 4 days ago and then Owen cut his this morning. Or at least thats when we saw it. This time around it wasn't nearly as bad! They all have seemed a little off this week and we weren't sure if its the weather and if they were getting sick but im hoping it was just teeth! Although no sign of any more for Evie.

I've been trying all day to get some pictures of their new teeth with no luck, tey hate me fishing around their mouths!

Next weekend we are going to take the babies to the snow!! (That is as long as the weather is nice.) I can't wait and hopefully they get a bunch this week so that it is all fresh and covered :) Patrick will go snowboarding but I will just hang out at the house with the babies. Although we may bring them out to the lodge too, just depends how good they are!
