Teething Sucks.
This past week has been tough. We are deep in the hell of teething. And let me tell you, trying to care for three infants that are uncomfortable and only want their mama with only 2 hands is near impossible. Both of the boys have cut their first teeth and Evelyn should cut one in the next day or 2. It is right at the surface.
I have heard about the teething hell and was hoping for the best and honestly praying that they would be the kids that did not really get effected by it and if they did, I was hoping it would be at different times. But no, they have decided that being triplets and all, its only fair that they go through everything at the EXACT same times. But, in all honesty its really not that bad, just extremely exhausting.
We have lost any form of a routine and they all have reverted back to not sleeping through the night. Patrick had a big week and was busy at work so he wasn't able to be home much. Thankfully my mom and sister were over helping a lot but the babies only really wanted me. They did not want to be put down and were all in just awful moods. Whenever it was nap time I ended up just bringing them all to bed with me and hoping for the best. We usually all got 30 minutes of sleep.
Their eating schedule is off too and are not all eating together anymore which is just hard on me. Im trying to let them eat whenever they want because it seems to help but that means im basically nursing not stop.
All of that coupled with it being FREEZING here the last couple of days (ok not nearly as bad as some places but we are california sissies) means we are not really going out much. They love being outside so im sure being cooped up indoors is not helping.
They all slept for over 6 hours last night and took some good naps today so im hoping it is going to get better. The boys definitely seemed better today.
We have tried a ton of things for them and were recommended Camilia from a fellow triplet mommy blogger friend and it seems to help! We only got it half way through this week so I think it will be of better use when we can use it at the first signs. They have been drooling tons and chewing anything in sight so we have been using cold teething rings that they seem to like.
I probably should have been more prepared for this week but we have been super busy. Well, lesson learned! Hopefully we have figured out what works and the worst is behind us.
In other news, we had a great Thanksgiving and the babies had so much fun with family. We are planning our anual family trip to the snow after christmas which should be really fun and I can't wait to take the babies!

I hear so many good things about the amber necklaces ... from like everyone!!
ReplyDeleteOur,girl seems to be helped by an amber necklace. She drools less and gnaws less while wearing it. She also loved mesh feeders. We started with bits of frozen breastmilk and also made small, ice, cubes from purees for the feeder once we started solids. Now, her favorite is frozen peas, frozen corn, frozen berries, etc. Notice the trend? Anything that is small and cold is fair game!
